En:Italia, Direzione Nord

Italia, Direzione Nord is a political and cultural event promoted by the Amici delle Stelline association and the Osservatorio Metropolitano di Milano. The first edition will be exhibited from the 13th until the 15th of October 2017.

Description

The event lasts three days and takes place at the Fondazione Stelline. Conferences and debates alternate throughout the course of these three days from morning until the evening. Political figures alongside experts of the economy and communications face each other to discuss the development of the country. The non-party project invites all sides to debate, and no political party is favoured, in order to promote a realistic debate which considers positive and knowledgeable expertise from the North that can be transferred to the rest of the country. The aim is not to cause division, but to demonstrate an example of the most able and experienced public and private administrations. In recent years, the division between the North and the South has further intensified - the challenge that lays ahead is to change this once and for all. Primarily, consolidated skills that emerge from regional areas of the north will find a nationwide outlet. This new approach to good politics could become a government view in the light of upcoming national elections.

The logo of Italia, Direzione Nord is made up of a pictogram and a logotype. The pictogram depicts a divided Italy, but not by North and South. Instead, the division is represented by an arrow that clearly points to the direction to follow in order to reach a significant goal. The arrow follows the direction of the template of the stylized silhouette of Italy. The aesthetic use of orange and violet purposefully disassociate the image from conventional political party colours.

First Edition

The first edition of Italia, Direzione Nord will land in Milan at the Palazzo delle Stelline on the 13th, 14th and 15th of October 2017. The works will be introduced by the governors of Lombardy and Liguria, Roberto Maroni and Giovanni Toti, and the exhibition will be concluded with a discussion between the mayor of Milan (Beppe Sala) and the mayor of Genova, Marco Bucci.
